Celebrating a New Headquarters and Board Leadership
ARTRAGE, a trailblazer in Western Australia’s arts and culture scene for more than 40 years, is proud to announce a significant milestone in its journey. The organization has relocated its headquarters to Swan Chambers in the Perth CBD, marking an exciting new chapter that promises to enhance ARTRAGE’s creative and operational capabilities, while reinforcing its legacy of delivering world-class cultural experiences.
A New Home for Creativity
Since 2007, ARTRAGE’s former headquarters at 89 Melbourne Street in Northbridge has been the epicenter of countless iconic artistic events, including FRINGE WORLD Festival, Rooftop Movies, and the recently launched RE//PERTH Winter Arts Festival. This vibrant space has fostered creative collaboration, bringing together artists, arts workers, and audiences from across Australia and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the local arts landscape.
The relocation to Swan Chambers in Perth’s bustling CBD opens an exciting new chapter for ARTRAGE, positioning the organization to expand its reach and foster deeper connections with Perth’s growing arts community. The new headquarters will provide a dynamic and modern space that supports ARTRAGE’s mission to inspire creativity, deliver exceptional cultural events, and connect people through the power of art.
“Our new home at Swan Chambers signals a thrilling step forward for ARTRAGE,” said Jo Thomas, CEO of ARTRAGE. “While we remain deeply connected to our roots in Northbridge, this move provides us with the opportunity to grow, evolve, and continue delivering transformative artistic experiences to the people of Perth and beyond.”
This move into the heritage listed 1891 building would not have been possible without the generous philanthropic support of private property developer, Humich Group.
“My vision has always been to create an arts hub within the City of Perth’s CBD” said Randal Humich, CEO of Perth’s Humich Group. “ARTRAGE’s relocation into the city will not only provide a significant cultural contribution but will also make meaningful inroads into unlocking our city’s true potential as a world-class urban arts precinct”.
Celebrating New Leadership
In addition to the exciting move, ARTRAGE is pleased to announce recent changes within its Board of Directors. Stepping down after a decade of visionary leadership are Chair Kyle Jeavons and Deputy Chair Saffron Solomon, who have both played instrumental roles in ARTRAGE’s growth and success.
Taking the helm as the new Chair is Noel Whitehead, whose deep connection to the arts and business sectors will guide ARTRAGE into its next phase of development. Joining him are Co-Deputy Chairs Brodie McCulloch, Founder of Spacecubed and Carolyn Chard, AM, an experienced arts leader recognized for her contributions to Western Australia’s cultural landscape. The organization extends its heartfelt thanks to Kyle and Saffron for their years of dedicated service, and welcomes Noel, Brodie, and Carolyn with great enthusiasm.
A Legacy of Creativity and Community Impact
While the new headquarters signals exciting changes, ARTRAGE remains unwavering in its commitment to the community and the neighbourhoods that have shaped its identity.
Iconic events like FRINGE WORLD Festival, Rooftop Movies, and the RE//PERTH Winter Arts Festival will continue to enliven the Northbridge precinct, ensuring ARTRAGE’s deep connection to this cultural hub remains as strong as ever.
For over four decades, ARTRAGE has been dedicated to enriching Western Australia’s arts scene, creating spaces where creativity thrives and communities come together. The organization’s new headquarters and board leadership symbolize its ongoing commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and artistic excellence, positioning ARTRAGE as a beacon of creativity in WA for years to come.
